Game Development Background

Assigned in the Fall of 2021, our team made this game from scratch for our Casual Game Production Class at the University of Central Florida. We were given constraints to have only 3 inputs (movement, camera rotation, and ping) and have the game last from 3-10 minutes.

CONTEXT

This project took up a span of eight weeks. We were a team of six undergraduate Game Design students who worked together to make this creation happen. My role as creative director and sound designer can be showcased through the video. I wanted the twisted horror of the dark to be brought to reality through the temporary loss of sight.

I designed and created all of the sounds used inside the game such as the voice acting, monster noises, ambiance, etc. You can hear all of these noises showcased in the video above.

We used Unreal Engine to create the product seen above. Throughout the process of creating this game, I learned that keeping the team organized and setting strict deadlines allowed us to create something we're proud of without losing out on any initial design principles due to the time constraint. Overall, I'm proud of the work my team and I put into this product and glad the direction of my creativity was able to be showcased due to excellent team members.
